Bill Clinton explains why he can't always speak his mind

He says it's great that as a former president he can say whatever he wants - most of the time
Bill Clinton suggests Hillary might "run for something" 00:52

Most former presidents have the freedom to speak their minds once out of the White House, but Bill Clinton says he doesn't have that luxury.

"The great thing about not being president anymore is you can say whatever you want, unless your wife might run for something," Clinton said Wednesday while speaking to the U.S. Conference of Mayors, which met at this presidential library in Little Rock, Arkansas.

"Then you can say whatever you want as long as you don't make any headlines," he said.

Fortunately, he'll know within the next few months whether his self-imposed censorship must continue. Hillary Clinton has said she will decide whether to run for president early next year.
